The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine is a family-oriented medical practice offering complete health care for children and adults, including obstetrical care for expectant mothers. Comprehensive care is provided by physicians, family nurse practitioners and psychologists, along with our certified diabetes educators and pharmacologist. Everyday, with every patient, we do our best to live out our mission to transform health care by providing the highest quality service to diverse communities through education, research and patient-centered caring.
Tucked into the heart of a residential neighborhood close to the School of Medicine and Palmetto Health, the Family Practice Center combines the convenience of a community health center with the technology and resources necessary to treat a broad range of illness and injury. We treat both acute and long-term conditions with a focus on prevention to keep your family active and healthy.
We understand that keeping people healthy goes beyond our role of diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses. That’s why we put a strong emphasis on health maintenance, disease prevention, and patient education through classes, lectures, and public service activities.
Our practice is the only certified Patient-Centered Medical Home in South Carolina. For our patients, that means more efficient, personalized and quality care.
